Milea

Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 October 2026
This is a pre-launch draft, written to accurately describe how Milea actually works today. Milea is currently built by an individual developer and is not yet operated through an incorporated company — this document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be treated as a good-faith draft, not final legal advice, until it is. Governing law and jurisdiction will be finalized once Milea is operated through a registered legal entity.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Milea, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Milea is

Milea is a record-keeping tool for freelancers: it helps you log business expenses and trips, estimate mileage and VAT figures, and organize records into filing periods. Milea is not tax, legal, or financial advice. Always confirm anything filing-related with a qualified accountant or tax professional before submitting anything to a tax authority.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the records you enter. Milea calculates figures based on what you enter and on general country tax-rate data — it cannot verify that your entries are accurate or complete.

4. Filing periods and record locking

When you submit a filing period, its expenses and trips are locked and can no longer be edited directly — this is intentional, to preserve an audit trail. After locking, changes are made through a "request a correction" flow, which appends a new entry rather than overwriting the original.

5. Plans and subscriptions

Milea offers a free Limited plan with a one-time allowance of records, and paid Standard and Pro plans. Paid plans are billed through Apple, Google Play or Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You cancel through the store or payment provider you subscribed with — Milea cannot cancel on their behalf — and your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Prices, limits and what each plan includes are shown in the app before you subscribe and may change over time. If a subscription lapses, your existing records remain available to view and export.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Milea to store or process data you're not legally entitled to hold, don't attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the service, and don't use it in a way that violates applicable law.

7. Data export and portability

You can export your full records at any time as a CSV or PDF file directly from the app.

8. Termination

You can stop using Milea and request account deletion at any time. Financial records subject to a legal retention requirement (see the Privacy Policy) may be retained even after account deletion, as required by tax law in your selected country.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Milea is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Milea and its developer are not liable for any losses, tax penalties, or damages arising from your use of the app, including errors in calculated figures or filings based on data you entered.

10. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Last updated" date above will change with them.
